Join the Cultural Wellness Center for the premiere of Dreamland on 38th, ( July 25, 2023, at The Parkway Theater) as part of the capital campaign to make the visionary project a reality. The dynamic, interactive event will feature:
- The premiere of the historical narrative interview that explores the history of South Minneapolis, its impact on the Black experience — and the future of the Black Business District
- Community members and descendants of those who lived in the South Minneapolis Black Business District during its heyday
- A Q&A with audience members led by broadcast legend Don Shelby and community historian and entrepreneur Anthony Taylor
- A performance by songstress Jamela Pettiford and a post-gathering at Town Hall Tap located at 4810 Chicago Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55417
This film will highlight why The Cultural Wellness Center’s Dreamland on 38th is an important step towards reclaiming and revitalizing a historically Black neighborhood.
